Be a Volunteer

Throughout the year, we have opportunities for the community to assist with activities for the Newbury Council on Aging.  We also have opportunities for residents who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Newbury Council on Aging.

Residents of all ages are welcome to volunteer.  Students who volunteer can earn credit hours towards their Community Service requirements.

The Newbury Council on Aging seeks volunteers for the following activities and services:  

Friendly Visitors, Meals on Wheels Packers and Drivers, Van Drivers, Van Monitors, Monitors for Group Activities, Receptionists, Office Assistants, Telephone Reassurance Coordinators, Grocery Shopping Assistants, Educational and Fitness Program Instructors, Guest Chefs, Musicians and Entertainers, Nail Specialists and Hair Stylists for home appointments.

The Friends of the Newbury Council on Aging seek volunteers with the following skills and experience to serve on the board:  Management, Secretarial, Treasurer, Legal Services, Marketing, Accounting, Fundraising, Social Media, Website Maintenance, Strategic Planning, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, Social Workers, Medical Professionals, Teachers and Insurance. 

The FNCOA welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and abilities to serve on the board.
