Tax Aide volunteers will be at the Council on Aging office on Monday, March 18, to prepare and electonically file tax returns for low to moderate income taxpayers who have no more than five sources of income (eight for couples filing a joint return) and generally do not itemize deductions. Your return must be relatively simple and straightforward.

This free service is available by appointment only. Call the COA office at 978-462-8114, option 3, to schedule your appointment at 12 Kent Way in Byfied. You will receive a confirmation letter with information about the tax documents you must complete and bring with you to the appointment. You must pick up an Intake Packet at the COA office which includes a form you need to complete and also bring to the appointment. Your tax return cannot be completed without this form from the Intake Packet.

You will meet with the tax preparer and wait at the COA while your return is prepared and electonically filed. Your tax documents will be returned to you at the appointment when the tax return has been filed electronically.

Please call the Council on Aging office if you want to make an appointment for this free service.
